A veteran of over forty years in professional music trenches, Max Carl has sung on recordings with Sir Elton John, Dusty Springfield, Bonnie Raitt, Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Timothy B. Schmitt, Jennifer Warnes, and Rodney Crowell. His songs have been recorded by Huey Lewis, Bette Midler, Aaron Neville, Joe Cocker, Tower Of Power, Jack Mack & The Heart Attack, and .38 Special.
Max Carl has been one of the reasons Grand Funk Railroad has been constantly touring the past 20 years when he stepped in to front the band in 2000 along with original members Mel Schacher and Don Brewer.
Max’s songs have been used on TV shows from the 80’s series “Miami Vice” to 2005 and the Speed Channel Series “PINKS.” In addition, Max’s songs in movies include Steve Martin’s “The Lonely Guy”, John Hughes’ “Weird Science” and Hugh Wilson’s “Police Academy.”

2000 – inducted as a Solo Artist into the Nebraska Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
2012 – inducted as a Solo Artist into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame
2012 – inducted with .38 Special into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame. 2013 – inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Max spent time in Oklahoma City and formed deep friendships and connections here and loves to come back and reunite on occasion with our local musicians, the passion for music they share. Jerry Wilson, Steve Crossley both world class musicians that have their own resume’s with such artists as Kenny Rogers, Glen Cambell, and Burton Cummings will form the band and will include LA studio musician and world wide touring musician Jimmy Paxson on drums. Jimmy has toured with Ben Harper, Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, The Chicks, Stanley Clarke to name a few.
